Our creative atelier, the artisan community and our guesthouse are all based in Marrakesh.

Artisans are the heart and soul of Sakura Living. Their skills and flexibility make our existence possible. The ease by which new ideas transform into matter is simply amazing. Our in-house team collaborates closely with a network of independent artisans, making them an integral part of our social contribution.
Riad “Al Ibtikar”
A Place for Connection & Collaboration
“Ibtikar” is Arabic and translates into innovation and creation. An oasis of tranquillity in the midst of the busy city. It is a place to rest, connect and explore new opportunities and possibilities. Our intention goes beyond the "meet and greet". The artist decorated the riad inline with the Sakura Lifestyle.
Besides the traditional touristic excursions, our offer extends to explore the artisan community and the process of co-creation. From a visit to our atelier, to a guided tour through the artisans craftsmanship and way of living. Each moment has the potential for a new beginning.

Parting from the traditional Moroccan architecture with tadelakt walls and zellige tiles, all rooms carry the artist’s signature with unique decorations of light. In some of the rooms, artistic ceiling paintings remain from his earlier explorations.

Starry Nights
A standard double bedroom with a starry night ceiling. This room gives out to the patio and has a private bathroom with shower. The central expression of light is from the Sakura Living Collection.
Sunny Days
Deluxe double bedroom situated on the first floor with private bathroom (shower). The entire wall is decorated with a unique expression of light in the spirit of a vineyard, honouring the artist's father's passion for wine. The sitting area can also be transformed into a single bed for a third person.
Blue Skies
Deluxe double bedroom situated on the first floor, with private bathroom (shower). Decorated with all handmade expressions of light, this room has a king-size double bed and a little traditional balcony finished with a wooden moucharabieh.
Flowers of Light
Situated on the first floor with a double four-poster bed. The artist painted the ceiling to bring the magic of the cosmos into the house. The cosmos makes up the backdrop for the different flowers of light. The private bedroom has two sinks and a bath, shaped out of takelakt.
Location
Footsteps from the world-famous square Jemma El Fna, the guest house lies nestled in the heart of the old Medina of Marrakesh.
All historic sites are easily accessible on foot, and the Sakura Living atelier is just around the corner.
